After moving to the Bay Area in the mid-1990s, Melody and I
would spend our weekends exploring the Sonoma and Napa Valleys, tasting
the wines, enjoying the food, and getting to know the places and people
of the region. In 1998, Melody and I were married at Chimney Rock
Winery on Napa's Silverado Trail. This event not only marked the
public commitment to our relationship but also our love affair with the
region and with wine! In 2005, we took a life changing trip in search of the true
origin of our life long love affair with wine. On that trip, we
experienced the majesty and diversity of fine dining in Paris, tasted
the very grapes that became the now famous 2005 Burgundy vintage, and
walked the casks of the Brunello di Montalcino makers. After that
experience, we knew that we didn't just want to be consumers; we also
want to be producers! So, that year we went in search of property
that we could call our own. It wasn't until 3 years later
that we happened upon our Burndale property and it was love at first
sight. The location was perfect and the vineyards were just coming
to maturity. We bought the property after a 30 minute tour and
haven't looked back since. Located in the north west corner
of the Carneros AVA, our vineyards are ideally suited for Chardonnay,
Syrah, and Pinot Noir. We cultivate from just over 3.5 acres of
vineyards.
We hope you have the pleasure of tasting a wine made from our property!
